Luke and Dan set up Chiba Film mid-pandemic in 2020 and have combined forces on directorial duties for many of Chiba Films key works, as well as developing their individual styles on solo creative projects.
Dan Gibling has been involved in high-end Film and TV for 15 years, organising feature film shoots from extreme environments such as the deserts of Jordan to the relative comfort of Pinewood Studios. As well as delivering BAFTA winning narrative content for some of the countries leading production houses in London, Dan’s work has also been firmly routed in Commercial Advertising and the Music Business for the past 15 years also, with various jobs for a plethora of leading global brands such as Nike, Sky, Samsung etc, and top music recording artists such as One Direction, Take That, George Ezra and Deep Purple. Dan’s directorial style leans towards cinematic narrative pieces, often pulling on references from his love of british social-realism films and Hollywood classics.
Luke McDonnell is a globally renowned artist and artistic director and founder of Chiba Creative. Luke focuses his time on creative thinking. Often involved in film pitches, idea collaboration, script writing and on-set design, he has created works for Dulux, Samsung, Twitter, Travelodge, Ford, YMCA, QuironSalud, Villa Lunera, Formula 1 and legendary rock band Deep Purple.
